Maine Lake Charts - Ice Out 2008


Here we go.... it is the moment we have all been waiting for! Our lakes are melting away all over southern and central Maine. Open water has been reported on many central Maine lakes and others will open up quickly over the next week to 10 days. Considering the winter we have experienced around here with record snowfalls and cold temperatures, it comes just in time. The ice is going out,,,,, yeee-haaa! Please remember to be careful out there. Cold water KILLS. An unplanned dunk in a lake with water temperatures running around 40 degrees can quickly numb your body and make climbing out impossible. Where that PFD! We have updated many charts recently so be sure to check our "Chart Status" page before you leave to see where we have been.



	E-mail us when the ice is out in your area and we'll track it as it moves north.
